DENA is committed to providing immigrants and refugees with diaper essentials. This is made possible by the volunteers who make up our leadership team.
Ariel Kirman: Founder, Executive Director
Ariel Kirman is a junior at Trinity School in New York City. When she’s not working on DENA, she can be found leading her school’s debate teams or serving on the New York Parliamentary Debate League Board. As an editor-in-chief of her school’s political magazine, The Trinity Review, Ariel enjoys writing and editing articles about economics and public policy. She is also a contributor at Jackson Hole Economics and volunteers for IRIS, an organization dedicated to helping immigrants and refugees. In her free time, Ariel plays table tennis (aka, ping pong) and hopes to one day beat her father in a game.
Zoe Schwab: Director of Connecticut Operations
Zoe is a junior in high school. She plays volleyball for her school team and runs on the track team. In her free time she likes to play with her dog, spend time with friends and family, and do something creative.
Molly Rubin: Director of DENA Designs
Molly is a senior at Westminster in Simsbury, Connecticut. She plays many sports — namely soccer, hockey, and tennis. When Molly isn’t working on jewelry for DENA designs, she is spending time with friends, playing with her two dogs, or learning about sociology and nursing.
Amelia Colbdorf: Director of New York Operations
Amelia Colbdorf is a junior at Ithaca High School in New York. She’s passionate about immigrant rights, and is on the leadership of her school’s feminist group. Amelia also loves musical theater and performing arts. She lives with her two parents, sister, and three dogs.
Nicholas Simonelli: Director of New Jersey Operations
Nicholas is a junior in High School at Hunterdon Central Regional HS in Flemington, NJ. He is part of the HS snowboarding club and plays soccer on a travel league. In addition, he works at Shoprite. He is an avid Juventus soccer fan, and enjoys playing video games, spending time with his friends and volunteering with local charities.
Shira Mallah: Social Media Coordinator
Hi! My name is Shira Mallah, and I am a junior at Blind Brook High School. I am the social media coordinator for DENA! I love to play tennis and basketball in my free time.
Carly Mallah: Outreach Director
Carly Mallah is a junior at Blind Brook High School in New York. She loves studying international relations and participating in Model UN at school. She also founded her school’s chapter of Girl Up and enjoys advocating for gender equality!
